What is 24Genetics?

24Genetics is a leading Spanish consumer genetics start-up in the biotechnology sector. With our short history, we already have a complete range of tests: ancestry, nutrigenetics, pharmacy, health, sports performance, skincare, talent, and personality. Our reports are available in 5 languages, are easy to understand, and offer relevant information to health professionals. To date, users from over 95 countries have already taken their genetic tests with us.

24Genetics is Europe’s leading health and ancestry testing company. Our ancestor test can relate a DNA sample to over 1000 regions and is the only one capable of reading our origins by the autonomous community. Other ancestor tests available on the market are barely capable of reaching 50 areas. As for our health test, it offers more than 250 sections (soon to be more than 500), compared to less than 100 of the most common tests.

Quality: genetic tests performed with Illumina technology

Our genetic testing is based 100% on Illumina technology, an industry leader with one of the most comprehensive genomic product portfolios in the world. Over the past five years, Forbes magazine has included Illumina among the 40 most innovative companies in the world, and MIT Technology Review has repeatedly cited Illumina among the 50 most ingenious companies in the world.

Transparency and privacy

24Genetics’s reports include a detailed analysis of the meaning and scope of genetic testing and its predictive value. Likewise, if they are interested in having more details or performing new tests related to the conclusions of the report, they are invited to consult specialized clinical services in different areas.

Regarding privacy, our policies go beyond what is required by EU regulation. Client information is never exposed, data is never online, and from the moment the test is performed, the sample becomes an anonymous code, and even the report does not include the client’s full name.

Finally, 24 Genetics does not sell, as is common practice in other companies in the industry, its customers’ genetic data to third parties.

Knowledge of our genetics can help us make very relevant decisions about healthy habits -in regards to nutrition, sports practice, skincare etc…-. Still, it is essential that genetic tests are of proven quality and that customer data is managed rigorously and diligently, always by strict criteria of transparency and privacy.

The high quality of the tests and confidence of the clients in the adequate handling and custody of their data are both our differential proposal and the primary commitment of 24 Genetics.
